Convenience & Liquidity
As listed, exchange-traded equity securities, MacroShares can be purchased or sold throughout the trading day.

No Credit Risk
Unlike exchange-traded notes (ETNs) and certain exchange-traded funds (ETFs), MacroShares do not entail credit risk or hidden counterparty exposures: MacroShares are securitized trusts fully-collateralized by U.S. Government obligations and cash.

Strategic
The term structure of MacroShares delivers unique return and hedging opportunities to investors. Unlike traditional exchange-traded products, MacroShares have an original term of up to 20 years.1 Market prices for MacroShares will diverge from net asset value, as they reflect not only movement of the reference index, but the consensus market expectations of trust returns over the term of the securities.

Choice
MacroShares enable investors and hedgers the ability to hold an economic interest in either the upward or the downward movement of the reference index because every MacroShares offering is comprised of a pair of securities that trade separately in the secondary market: “Up” MacroShares and “Down” MacroShares.

Income
In addition to capital return, MacroShares investors receive automatic, yield-enhancing quarterly distibutions when net income is available for shareholders.
